Surface Book: Microsoft’s first laptop

Prices start at 1499 dollars, and you will be able to get their hands on October 26th. But you can pre-order today.

Under the hood, there is therefore a Skylake, i5 or i7 depending on the model, and a NVIDIA GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory. We have seen the benefits of this power during the event, with perfectly functioning League of Legends and current video editing in Adobe Premiere with ease. Customers will be able to customize their Book surface with an SSD as large as 512 GB, and opt for the cheapest option with Intel HD graphics rather than the GeForce GPU.

Ah yes, it’s also a tablet. Although the computer has a robust keyboard with HDMI and USB ports, you can detach the screen and use it as a “clipboard”. NVIDIA graphics chip is in the database, so you can use the computer as a touch pad. But by connecting the keyboard, you will have a more powerful machine with hardware acceleration. You can also return the screen back 360 degrees thanks to its hinge, to use the Book Surface as a tablet connected with the base, and the graphics chip.

Faster than a MacBook Pro
Microsoft states that the laptop is equipped with the same screen technology that PixelSense Surface Pro 4 with a pixel density of 267 ppi, and Gorilla Glass glass screen 4 Corning. There is also support for pen input with the Pen Area. But unlike a Surface tablet, which is touted to replace your laptop, integrated backlit keyboard is sturdy and quiet when you tap it. The keys have a 1.6 mm.

Microsoft states that the Book surface is two times faster than a MacBook Pro, thanks to the GPU.

You want to add external monitors or other equipment? The Living Book offers support to the new dock Surface Pro, with a double DisplayPort. This allows you to connect two monitors to 4K. The laptop also has two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI port.

However, although very attractive, the key to the success of this new system is whether or not consumers will want to pay 1499 dollars.
