Windows 10: adoption of 3.5% in less than two weeks

Microsoft has strongly worked in recent weeks to push the upgrade to Windows 10 to millions of users on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, free of charge. And, it appears that the first two weeks were successful. Current figures from StatCounter suggest that Windows 10 holds 3.55% of market share.

Compared with the same period and the launch of Windows 8, the first digits of Windows 10 are impressive. This is reinforced by a free update, alongside millions of members of the “insiders”, who got a free pass to help the development and development of the new OS.

Most updates from Windows 8.1 , from 16.4% to 14.9%, down 1.5%. For Windows 8, which has a much lower percentage, the market share increased from 3.4 to 1.4%.
Interestingly, users of Windows 7 seem to be apathetic towards the free upgrade, with only 0.6% change in share market. Windows 7 is still the dominant desktop operating system, with 53.8% of users of the platform apparently happy.
That said, Microsoft initially seems to focus on clients with Windows 8 and 8.1, before moving to Windows users 7. We could see a sharp rise in numbers once everyone who has not booked the updating start to receive notifications for it.

This is just the beginning
Curiously, Windows XP experienced a small increase in users 0.2% . Since the platform is no longer supported by Microsoft or many third party developers, this increase is shocking, and suggests that in some markets Windows XP machines are still sold.

If Microsoft did not confirm the download figures, she wants to see on a Windows 10 billion by the end of 2016 machine , which can happen because the OS will be installed on a large number devices. In the mobile market, Windows Mobile 10 comes first few Lumia smartphones. If Microsoft intends to launch at least six new Lumia devices addictive support Windows 10, manufacturers do not seem to rush to build and market a smartphone with OS from Redmond.
